For many people, the cost of soil prices them out of building a home garden. But would you be ready to start your garden if you knew that you could get soil for free?
Tip 1
If there are parts of your yard with exposed soil (without grass or heavy growth), you may be able to plant directly in the earth instead of raised beds or containers!
Tip 2
Look for posted signs that say “free top soil” around properties in development. You can Google “free top soil near me” and start calling around.
Tip 3
People often have an extra half a bag of garden soil lying around that they don't mind sharing. Search for buy nothing groups on Facebook, or join our community by swiping up.
Gardening is for everyone. We help reduce the barrier of cost.
